Familiar Weight loss Fallacies Exposed

Monday, February 8th, 2010

The weight loss sector is made up of a huge volume of information. Most of it is very helpful and factual but over time some of it loses accuracy and reliability. So, certain diet myths pop up and people start believing in them, when in fact they aren’t accurate ın any respect. So let’s consider a few of them and expose them for what they really are… myths.

Certain Diets For Targeted Areas – The first myth is that there are specific weight loss plans that will help lose a lot of fat from some areas of the body. This is certainly not the case in the least. It is our bodies that decides where it is going to burn the extra fat from. It works the exact same way when putting pounds on, it’s the body that selects the locations to store the extra energy. As a result overall body weight loss is the only issue you can focus on and in time our bodies will decide to use the unwanted fat from the location where you really want to lose it from.

High Protein Diets Can Work Long Term – High protein, low carb diets work best for losing weight quickly. But in the long run they can really be quite hazardous if you don’t follow them properly. They can unbalance the chemicals in the body and it can result in increased levels of serotonin which can result in depression amongst other things. A well balanced diet with proper exercise is the only way to reduce weight healthily in the long term.

Eating At Night Is Sensible Since you Sleep It Off – Lots of people treat eating like alcohol. They figure they will just have that final drink because they will sleep it off and feel great the next day. However eating foods at night is the worst time to do it. The reason being your body has no chance to burn any of it off and it will just be stored. Then the next day, it will simply just burn off the energy you put in at breakfast and if you don’t workout it will keep your calories eaten the night before as extra weight on the body. So keep your eating at night down to a bare minimum.
